Day 2 of the Elves

I have actually been working a digital scrapbook for the kids to stick all the  pictures in of the Elves goings and doings. I figure when it is all over, I will have it printed so they can look through it over the year. I am hoping it will help with not missing them to much!

So today's installment is what the Elves did to Dad's bug. I had the antlers for awhile and said they were for the minivan but really didn't know how they got on the VW bug. Is the bug not the cutest thing!

My Pumpkin Challenge Awesome Pick - November

My project here  got picked as an awesome project of the month of November over at My Pumpkin Challenge. All the projects this month were awesome and I thankful for the pick!!

The Technique Twist #11

I wanted to try this technique and to be honest I don't know if I executed it right but I wanted to try it. The challenge this week at The Technique Twist was called traced doodling. My first attempt at it was a failure so I did it again and stamped the Festive Flurry flake in basic black which is attemptingly a cheat on the outlined part,  and than using my SU colored pencils (after I had to search for them) to color in the snowflake with red and green. I than die cut out the snowflake and mounted it on a dimensional. I than stamped the Merry Christmas in White craft ink.

As someone who doesn't doodle often, when I do, I am one that likes to color in the lines when I see something like this, so this reflects how I like to doodle!

Up close of the snowflake!

The Elves Arrived!

The morning after Thanksgiving is reserved for the arrival of the Elves.  My daughter wrote the sweetest letter to Santa asking for her Elf Herman to come back and she wanted to make sure that her little brother also got an Elf from the North Pole. His Elf is Eddie!

So when they woke up Friday morning, the Elves had arrived. They brought breakfast and mugs for hot cocoa. The kids were so excited and the elves went every where with us that day. We don't believe that if you touch them they lose their magic because there is no way my kids could keep their hands off of them.

Scrapbook Friday- Sweet 16

My cousin just turned the big 16 (yep we are 20 years apart) and my Mom wanted to have a page done for her. So I had some great stuff in my stash to create this fun page based off a sketch I found on Pinterest with my own twist on it.

Thanksgiving Crafts

We are having a lazy Thanksgiving day today. We have no where to go which is wonderful even though we do miss our families in Arizona and Wisconsin.

The hubby played football with the kid to discover Miss O has quite a throw with her arm. She said she has been playing with neighbor kid a bit (he loves sports). Mr. L worked on riding his bike and is really close to getting it down. He tires out after awhile.

The hubby than tried his hand at watching the Packer Game but moved on to The Godfather at some point. All I heard him say was he tried!

So than the kids and I decided to make some fun crafts.

First we worked on a Turkey Puppet where they wrote things they were thankful for on.

Than we were working on a craft for Girl Scouts on Monday and we decided to make Rudolf and friends. I love the huge pom pom for noses.

Try Stampin On Tuesday #145

I made this card for a Swap a few weeks ago and thought that it worked so well for this week's challenge on Try Stampin

retro sketches #91

I love the festive flurry set and loved the simple design of this week's retro sketches.

Sketch Frenzy Friday 112212

I did a digital card using MDS and my new favorite digital set Jingle and Joy.  I really like creating digital stuff and used this set to create a fun Elf on the Shelf scrapbook for my kids to remember their crazy December with their Elves.

clean and simple #268

It has been a while since I have done a challenge and this raining morning in Houston had me pulling my stuff out to create this card for the clean and simple challenge.  I used all Satmpin Up products and my new favorite is the festive flurry set.

Scrapbook Fridays- Holiday Page

I forced the kids (as they like to tell it) to dress up nice and go for pictures one early Sunday morning. We had some fun taking pictures and they were happy when I let them play on the playground.

I used the Basic Black and Real Red color scheme because of their outfit colors. I than used the fun Festive Flurry set as well as A Banner Christmas (my upline had it and I just loved it).

Card Swap

I participate in a monthly card swap and I always do my card that month but than I totally forget to take them. So now I have three cards to take this month. I had fun making all of them.

I like to use the Paper Pumpkin kits because not everyone orders it. I also am so about the Festive Flurry set as well so I made a fun trifold card from that as well.

Scrapbook Friday's- Grandma's Cherries

In July when visiting the family in Wisconsin, we had a 60th birthday party for my wonderful mom. I had seen these outfits at the store and just had to get the for my daughter and niece. the girls were so darn cute with their matching outfits and look so much alike. Miss P could be my third child with how much she looks like us.

My Pumpkin Challenge - November

I have to say My Pumpkin Challenge is one of my new favorites.  Jessica and her team are doing great things over there and I highly suggest checking them out.

This month was hard because we had a great My Paper Pumpkin kit because it wasn't the usual card but a great notepad set and I loved the stamps but I admit to finding it different to see other uses for it. So of course that was the challenge this month, to do something different with it.

I actually did a Pinterest search to see what others were doing, looking for inspiration for the project. I wanted to do it to stretch myself and especially since I haven't been doing that many challenges of late because I am working on other crafts.

This was the best of both worlds project. I had found a fun pin about a Nice/Naughty board for the Elf on the Shelf. I had thought about doing it but than I decided I didn't really want to hold the kids to it and have anxiety build up about it so I passed on that idea but with that sprung another idea.

So this is what I came up- a Happy Holidays Memo board. I used MDS and created the fun Happy Holidays and than I stamped the "To Do" and Notes from this months Paper Pumpkin. I also used some of the fun new holiday stamps and die cuts that came out. Finally some of the fun paper from the note roll.

I really like this and haven't decided to give it as a gift or keep it. I know if I gift it, it will be loved.

Thankful Banner

Using SU's Banner set, I created a banner for my wall. I used the new DSP Sweater Weather and made some rosettes and stenciled on the letters and background. It is just a fun banner. You can purchase the supplies from stampinup.com.

Macaroni Kid Column -11/3/13

I totally forgot to post this earlier this week. You can see my in-seething hatred for doing the Elf on the shelf but here is the irony, I actually spent time this week planning some of his things out to maybe lessen the stress it cause me. Here's to hopes I rarely forget him rather than forget him almost every darn night!!

Scrapbook Fridays- Galveston

Some friends were in town so we decided to take them down to Galveston to show them the beach. It was twilight there and just breathtaking with the colors in the sky over the ocean. We vowed as a family to do this more often because it was so nice to just relax and breath.

Bow Holder

My daughter has a ton of bows in her bathroom drawer and she never wants to wear them because she does't want to go through them to find the perfect one, so after seeing a zillion of them on Pinterest I made her one.

It was super easy. I picked up this frame on the clearance rack for 4 bucks. I had the ribbon on hand left over my my sewing projects a few weeks back. Using my handy staple gun, I stapled the ribbon onto the back of the frame, hammered some nails in the wall, placed the bows and hung on the wall. I think it took all of ten minutes to do.

Scrapbook Friday's- Horseback Riding

Way back in August my daughter was invited to a birthday party which was a horseback riding one. She actually was scared because she had never rode a horse before. I told her it was fun but honestly hadn't got on a horse since I was like ten. So we went and both of us got up on this big old horse and had a blast.

All of the girls at the party had a blast riding the horses and well we are excited to go again at some point.
