My Most Pinned Pin

12:00 AM 0 Comments

Every once in a great while I look to see what my most pinned pin is and when it hit 200 remind I was so excited.

Honestly I haven't looked in ages but noticed that it was just pinned again so I went to see what it was up to. I was half expecting it to maybe like 500 but it was over 2000 times.

2000 times this pin here.
has been re pinned and saved to others boards.

It was one of the simplest and easy crafts to do. It was a test run for my Pinterest parties that we have a few times a year!

So take a look at my super simple craft pin and if you are interested in the actual post, you can view it here.

The post alone also has over 2500 views now I need to get all my posts that many!

This amazes me so much and thanks for stopping by!

Bitmoji Love

12:00 AM 0 Comments
One of my favorite things is Bitmoji, which is creating your own personal emoji. I just love how custom you can make it. I love sending people texts with my own look and I think my Bitmoji looks a lot like me.

My Bitmoji has been everything I can make it in the app on my iPhone. I sent one to my Aunt once and she loved it so much, that she had to create her own. It looks just like her to and she will send them to me randomly as a pick me up.

I used the app recently to make Bitmojis for the kids and myself. I figure I could use them for fun stickers for my planners. I used a scrapbook program and just downloaded the pictures I saved off the iCloud to my laptop. It was super simple but a tad time consuming to add and size them all.

The sheets look like this:

I can print them and hand cut them out on sticker paper or load them into my Cricut to cut (I already loaded to see how it would look).

I figure this will be a fun way to add a little something extra to my planner and all sorts of things like in the kids lunches. I figure I can print a sheet up for the girl for her school planner to keep track of all her stuff.

Pinterest LOVE

12:00 AM 0 Comments
Pinterest has my heart still. I love it for all the different ideas it gives me every day though what I don't like is all the different ideas it gives me every day because I feel like it is never in an orderly way. Yes I know we have boards, but sometimes I go pin crazy and than I feel everything is crazy disorganized.

So I saw that others were putting on cover pictures for their boards and I loved that idea. I used a scrapbook program (My Memories) to create simple picture board headers for each of the different boards.

Now my personal page looks like this and for me it is finally looking clean and orderly. I like clean and orderly.

I love the cute little headers and they were simple. Any editing software and a general picture would work for this.

You can always go to my Pinterest page and follow me. I pin all the time and love sharing ideas!

I mean I love Pinterest so much that when my Father in law was in San Francisco last year, he stopped into their headquarters and got me the cute little pin (yep it is a Pinterest pin).

Baseball Season is Starting

11:04 AM 0 Comments

Yes the first thing out of my mouth was "are you getting softball ones to?"

I wasn't the only one asking and they are checking.

So of course I saw these adorable raglans with baseballs on them and knew I needed to make a shirt with it but what. I have so many softball centric and many baseball are similar but I found this idea and was like YESSSSSS!

So of course once it is in my head and I need to create and do it so  after some time cutting on my Cricut, and pressing, here is the finished project.

I will be making a similar one if they get softball shirts in to the vinyl shop (I got mine here).

I figure if I am living at the sportsplex for the next 4 months, I should look cute- right?

Wall Update

11:56 AM 0 Comments
Spring is in full bloom here in Texas and summer is creeping at its heels with the warm temps. We had enough rain for a month over the last two days and it is raining on and off today. I love spring and I am totally in love with some of my new decor things.

I am all about aqua/teal and accenting it all. I am also in love with American decor but with a twist.

I love my new Heidi Swapp Marquee sign. I was stalking it on Amazon which it was sold out and than it appeared at Hobby Lobby. Joann's had more stuff for it and I love that I can change out sayings. I also love my marquee letter and star.

My wreath got a new banner which was the cutout from my cute shadow box project below from adorable States paper. I am a sucker for anything state and travel related.

Finally my awesome decorated globe. My hubby laughed at me when I bought it at a garage sale and it did not look like this. After some coats of spray paint and the flowers, I love how it turned out.

Painted Owl

12:00 AM 0 Comments

The girl and I loved doing a Holiday painting class so of course I was inspired and found some adorable precut unpainted shapes. I have been wanting an owl for my front door and well I painted it n some fun colors for the cooler temps. It was my real first attempt at it and I know I will get better. I used vinyl for our name and some mesh ribbon I had around the house.

I am also working on a shamrock for St. Patty's Day.

Big Surprise-Prep Work

12:00 AM 0 Comments
So if you are reading this, we are off on an adventure as a family. It is a big one, one that has been planned for six months and it has been kept a secret from half the family as well.

So here is a little history, the hubby got a small inheritance when his Mother passed away last year. We decided to spend it in a way that would honor her and do things she was never able to do for my Hubby. He bought himself a 3D printer and got me tricycle (which I love).

We decided for the kids to do a big trip and we kept it quiet. My is it hard to plan things without the kids knowing. Thankfully I explained to the travel agent to not call me after the kids got home (only before) and plus with them at school it helped a lot.

Of course being the crafty person I am, I wanted to make things to continue on the surprise for the kids as we set off on our epic journey. The funny thing is the boy has asked constantly to go to this particular place for the last few months. We get in the car and I will ask jus randomly, where should we go and he shouts out this place. Today was the day, we could go finally.

So lots of prep work in planning this huge surprise for them.

I made a surprise travel pack for the kids with some stuff in it to entertain them in the car and to have when we arrive.

These are the kids surprise bags with stuff for the road.

I got Miss O and I matching Mickey Vera for the trip.

The kids autograph books I made them.

My bag that I sort of had to make.

Than I took on a weeks long project of making shirts for every day we were there.

Every day is a theme and I included the hubby and I on a few days.

Kids and my monogram shirt

Our Magic Kingdom Shirts

Monsters

Big Hero

May the Force

Avengers

arghhh!

I love all the shirts so much. As I made them, that was my current favorite. I had one idea for our Star Wars shirts but went in a totally different direction when I saw an similar idea on Pinterest.

Super excited for our journey.

Stay tuned for more!

Fall Sign- swoon!

12:00 AM 0 Comments

SO last week I was at Wally World for what ever reason (I think looking for t-shirts) and I came across this really cute MDF sign that was on the clearance rack. I grabbed it for four bucks and figured I would do something with it (I am a craft hoarder so I see potential in everything).

So I brought it home, looked at it for a few days as it sat on my table and than stuck it int he closet. I was at first thinking it would be cute with books on it to maybe hang jewelry on it.

Than I was wandering around Hobby Lobby (big surprise) and saw a really cute sign that inspired me to create this one. So I bought some black paint and well went to work creating this cute sign for the fall.

I cut out all the pieces out of vinyl of course using my Cricut and just started layering on. I am not the biggest vinyl fan but it actually went pretty easy and I love how it turn out. Now I need to figure out a place for it.

Sunflower Welcome Wreath

12:00 AM 0 Comments

You know my love of wreaths and another love has always been sunflowers. As a teenager, my bedroom was filled with sunflowers. I don't get to use them as much in my decor as I once did but once I saw a cute Make it Now project on Cricut.com, I had an idea to make a wreath. Actually the wreath slowly came into play.

I really wanted to make the 3D sunflowers so I cut 2 and put them together and decided I needed a 3rd though not sure what I was going to do with them. They were pretty easy to put together once I found the  instructions on Cricut.com (I have now bookmarked it because I always forget to do it.).

I than dug through my stash and found these cute 12 inch chipboard circle wreaths. I cut out the lined paper from SU's Schoolhouse DSP which has to be my favorite ones of the new catalog.

I than cut out the Welcome using Cricut Design Space and more of the Schoolhouse DSP. I keep thinking it needs something but simple might actually work for it to. I may come back to it.

It is on my front door but is not in the elements. I have an inset porch plus a screen door to protect it.

Updated Laundry Room On the Cheap

10:54 AM 0 Comments
So we were gone visiting family out of state for an entire month so my crappy washer and dryer didn't get used. I was boohooing about it before we left because the dryer was acting weird and I suspected that it was near death. I even mentioned it to a few people that I was liking going to have to buy a new one soon, I just didn't expect it would be the day after we got back.

So here I am Sunday night doing load of laundry and go to stick it in the dryer which wasn't working. I asked the hubby to come up and look at it. He came up and just told me to go get a new set. He figured they were nearing 13 years old (in September) and we have been talking about it for awhile.

So here I set out Monday morning to shop around for new machines. Funny thing was Sears happen to be having a Cyber Monday sale, so after I looked at the machines in store as well as a few others, I just came home and ordered them because they were cheaper online.

They were scheduled to arrive on Wednesday at some point, so I decided to clean the laundry room some in order to make it quicker when the delivery guys came. My laundry rooms was awful. I think I found lint from 2003 when the machines were installed. After I cleaned, I realized we had some left over floor tiles from last years home project we had to do after being gone for a few weeks (the air con leaked and we had to pull out the carpet).

I laid those down and than put them on the shelves as well. My shelves are bad and I really didn't want to paint them with another layer of paint. They could be touched up some but I am not worried. I than walked around the house and found some baskets I am not using and added them to the top shelf which is usually a catch all place.

I had the cork tiles on hand and printed up wash and dry and added them on. I had everything basically so it cost me nothing other than the new washer and dryer (It was an overall expensive week because both kids needed glasses too).

I love how it turned out. I am thinking about putting a counter in over the machines at some point but it works for me and I actually like going in there and gulp - doing laundry.

New machines and new decor

Top shelf

Dollar store bins to hold laundry and cleaning supplies. I had these already.

Lost sock center. I had the frame and have been wondering what to do with it.

I made new labels for my baskets.

Let Them Eat Paper Cake!

2:15 PM 0 Comments

I don't bake and honestly don't really like to because it is to measuring and being precise. I am more a chef where you can play with the ingredients. I have become obsessed with creating a paper cake and finally had some time to sit down and create it. It actually wasn't as much time as I thought it was going to be- about the same of an actual cake. I really love how it turned out plus it is all things I had on hand. I made the cake stand and used a small candle holder for the base. It is made out of a piece of light cardboard and I cut out the circle on top and the scallop edge which I attached.  It is super cute and I would love to set it out with little treats inside the boxes for a party.

First off I cute 16 boxes in 2 sizes. I was able to cute and put all of the together in about 40 minutes. The Cricut would cut and as the next one was being cut, I put the one before together. I didn't use SU paper because it is heavier and doesn't always cut well so I used some lighter card stock in coordinating colors. One is a mint and the other is a coral.

I than cut the banner out suing the banner punch and new SU DSP Schoolhouse. It also worked well for for the flowers which I cut using the big flower die for the Big Shot. I tried cutting some using the Cricut but they didn't look right to me so I scrapped them (wasting a whole sheet of paper) and used the die instead. I could put any saying on the banner for any occasion. I left it blank just for fun.

I would say this took me about an hour and fifteen minutes to make from start to finish. I had to stop and go to a class I had signed up for but once I got back, I started on it again. When I was done, I told my family I had made them a cake. It got a chuckle!

Flip Flop Wreath

11:45 AM 0 Comments

I cleaned my craft room today and I admit I have to much stuff. I am crafty so I like to try a variety of new things and am thankful that I have a hubby that enjoys my crafting exploits. He actually likes to get involved as well. He made a crafty sort of purchase that should be arriving soon and I know the kids will be super excited for it when it does arrive. I need to figure out where it is going though when it does show up.

So as I was cleaning my room and closet (It is my Monica closet as friend likes to call it), I found flip flops that I had purchased on the clearance rack like two years ago and I have always wanted to make a wreath out of them. So when you are crafty and have supplies, one can usually find what one needs to create stuff without going out to buy things. I had everything on hand to create this from my stash. It turned out really cute and it is a heavy one. I had a lot of purple flip flops so I tried as best to spread them out in the wreath.

The felt flowers were also a clearance find and I just hot glued them on to the wreath as well. It is fun and summery! I bet this wreath cost under 5 bucks in materials when I actually bought the stuff. I think I paid like a quarter for each pair of flip flops and they felt flowers. I see things and always see potential- just need not wait two years!

Chores for the Summer

11:30 AM 0 Comments
Okay it is officially summer break today for us. I told the kids last Sunday that we would be starting a new chore chart system for the summer because I can't and will not do it all. Today was the real test with them because we had lots to do for the end of the season softball party on Saturday so I wanted to get everything done today.

The kids have been awesome all week with the chores. Each day they have some daily chores and than maybe one extra one that needs to get done weekly. Every day they have with out fail done all their jobs, took turns with the few that need that and done their daily extra job. Yes some bickering did happen but I told them that if they bickered to much, no Mom bucks (I will get to that in a moment).

I printed this custom chore chart out and laminated it for each kid and hung it up on the bulletin board.

So if they do all there stuff all week, they get rewarded with one mom buck for the daily jobs and one for weekly jobs so for a grand total of 10 mom bucks every week. It is all or nothing so if they blow off doing stuff, no mom bucks. Than they can turn it in for different things.

Funny thing is my five year old was way more excited about this and vacuumed the whole house. Plus they did a bunch of extra stuff to and got a extra today. I also gave them one freebie to start with as well.

So far it is working. I even created play money to give them. They think it is so cute with my face on them.
