Spring Wreath

12:00 AM 0 Comments

Burlap is still so in and I love it and could burlap the world but I am learning self control with it. This is the burlap ribbon from Stampin Up offered in there 2014 Occasions Catalog. It is five yards and just covered the chipboard wreath I had in my stash. I had a small part left open but that was where I covered it with the felt flowers.

The felt flowers are so easy. I just cut strips of felt, fodled them in half, hot glued and cut them to create the pom pom effect. The flat flowers are an old die I have for the Sizzix that I just cut out with the left over pieces of felt.

February Pinterest Party Crafts

12:00 AM 0 Comments
So way back at the beginning of the month, I hosted the first Pinterest party of the year. We did 4 crafts and the inspiration  was budget crafting. I also wanted to make the last item but the store didn't have anymore of the flat candle bases.

The first project was a decorated mason jar. The label on the front is a die cut heart out of chalkboard contact paper. You can write sweet messages. I left them empty but you could put tea, cocoa, or candy in it. I made these for Christmas and filled with candy.

Apothecary inspired candle holder.  It is a candle base and a hurricane jar just glued together using super glue. I put a candle in but you could fill it with all sorts of things and make a variety of sizes of them to display.

Here are the magnets of the magnet fabric colored board we did.

Finally this is the project where all of the supplies no longer were at the store when I went back. It is a candle holder and candle plate sprayed painted red and clear coated. I than sprayed it with a clear coat. You could put a cupcake on it or candles. I thought what a cute plate stand.

Stampin Celebration #75

10:09 AM 4 Comments

I love the monthly challenge over at Stampin Celebration Challenge  and I like to wait till mid month because I love to see both inspirations for the month which one is usually a color and the other a sketch.

Here are the inspirations:

I love the colors of the inspiration picture and choose to use muted versions of the colors on my Digital creation using SU's Retro Fresh (I love the set in both digital form and hard).

I flipped this inspiration on its side for the page for my own twist on it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Twisted Challenge 17: Puzzle Piece Resist

5:00 AM 0 Comments

It is challenge time over at the Technique Twist and this week we are doing the Puzzle Piece Resist.

I was so stumped as to what to do with this week's challenge and than I went through my embossing folders and was inspired by the cloud. I die cut out the banners and than embossed top part. I than took whisper white and put it on clouds. I also die cut out the the red papered flags and digging through my stash of stuff, I decided on a Hello sticker from an old paper pumpkin kit.

Valentine's Mailbox

12:00 AM 0 Comments

I saw this adorable mailbox at Target in the Spot section and I thought I need to get one and decorate it. I brought it home and realized I needed a project to send to a new stamp club that I just joined (even though I can't make it).

So using the new Fresh Prints DSP paper pack which has a ton of paper just the right size to cover small things or mat your pictures.

I also used one of those great Sale-A-Bration freebie stamp sets and did a cute little banner for the front.

Than in the big debate between my daughter and myself, I decided to super glue the candle stick to the bottom to make it look like a real mailbox and tied the little bow around it.

I think I might need to go back and get more of the mail boxes because I really don't want to part with it but it will make a great project to exchange.

Plus as I love budget projects, it cost under 2.50 to make which us a great gift to give!

January Paper Pumpkin

12:00 AM 0 Comments

The January Paper Pumpkin arrived and I loved that it could be done a ton of different ways.  I did two cards just like the examples and than because of the pretty paper inside, flipped the cards to make the other side.

I also love that I have a WHOLE extra sheet of stickers to use as well on other projects.

Scrapbook Friday's- Color blocking

12:00 AM 0 Comments

I went through all of my photos a few weeks ago and sorted like crazy of the ones I wanted to make into pages and the others that go into the photo box. These two 5x7 struck me as needing to be scrapbooked. The one of my son was when we went down to the beach spring of 2013 and the one of my daughter was likely back in like 2011ish when she was about 5 (at least that was the last time she had bangs!)

She looks so different to me now that she is nearly eight years old and in second grade though honestly not terribly much taller.
