My Pumpkin Challenge- Special Moments

11:43 AM 5 Comments
I haven't participated in a few months on My Pumpkin Challenge but I have loved seeing the great projects they have created. I haven't felt totally inspired by the paper pumpkin that has come in. Honestly I was just going to make a graduation card like the kit and be done with it but than it hit me to do a coordinating page and card to give as a gift to a upcoming graduate. I need to find a fun frame for the page.

Stampin Celebration #75

10:09 AM 4 Comments

I love the monthly challenge over at Stampin Celebration Challenge  and I like to wait till mid month because I love to see both inspirations for the month which one is usually a color and the other a sketch.

Here are the inspirations:

I love the colors of the inspiration picture and choose to use muted versions of the colors on my Digital creation using SU's Retro Fresh (I love the set in both digital form and hard).

I flipped this inspiration on its side for the page for my own twist on it.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Pumpkin Challenge- January

10:52 AM 3 Comments

So I love the journal that came for My Paper Pumpkin and put it all together right away. I loved that there were tons of stickers as well as extra wood people. I decided that a cute Vday card was in order for the project.

I took Pool Party and made the base card. I added in a ayer of Calypso Coral and than topped it with a piece of retired DSP. Adding in the cute little wooden couple and one of the cute stickers from the set.

Stampin Celebration Inspiration Challenge #73

11:36 AM 4 Comments
SCIC had another inspiration project for this month and I did another digital scrapbook page. I did the fun Elf on he Shelf Page for the Christmas inspiration and this week I did one of the kids for the holidays in their Christmas PJs.

So here is the inspiration sketch:

Here is my MDS creation using the sketch. This would be a fun one to also make with real papers.

Stampin Celebration Inspiration Challenge #73

6:19 AM 4 Comments

I am working on a digital scrapbook for my kids to chronicle the adventures of their elves. The kids elves aren't exactly Shelf Elves but they are naughty doing all sorts of things for the amusement.

I created this title page and thought it was a great example for the challenge over at SCIC because it just screamed Christmas to me with the inspiration photos.

Christmas is my most favorite time of the year and those are some of my favorite colors to have in the house.

The Technique Twist # 12

7:35 AM 6 Comments

I should be totally getting ready for the Wreath class I am teaching later  today but I so wanted to try the double stamping technique this morning showcased over on Technique Twist.

I created a card using the Festive flurries snowflakes. I first stamped the small snowflake, embossed it and than die cut out the matching snowflake. I than masked the snowflake and stamped using the big snowflake and the mid size ones. I than embossed those as well.

Finally I used the Wish you a merry Christmas stamp from the November Paper Pumpkin in Bermuda Bay.

I can see so many applications for this technique and really liked it.

My Pumpkin Challenge - December

I knew instantly what I was going to do for this month's challenge My Paper Pumpkin when I got the November paper pumpkin set and totally admit to working on it prior because I didn't want to lose the idea that was floating in my head! I loved that they had extra star garland in set and so I made this awesome sign using MDS to mimic the sentiment that came with the set- I went back and forth if I should use  the Wish you a Merry Christmas or Noel. I liked the Christmas saying a little better but could totally see how awesome the NOEL would look too.

I just printed the saying up on regular paper and than traced it out on to a covered sheet of chalkboard contact paper and used the SU chalkboard pen and than went over the letters.  I took the star stamp from the set and stamped in white the stars above the i's and than used a few of the extra garland stars to accent it as well.

I than strung the extra star garland over the top, cut a few out to accent above the other stars and framed it.

Thanks for looking!!!

The Technique Twist #11

5:19 AM 5 Comments

I wanted to try this technique and to be honest I don't know if I executed it right but I wanted to try it. The challenge this week at The Technique Twist was called traced doodling. My first attempt at it was a failure so I did it again and stamped the Festive Flurry flake in basic black which is attemptingly a cheat on the outlined part,  and than using my SU colored pencils (after I had to search for them) to color in the snowflake with red and green. I than die cut out the snowflake and mounted it on a dimensional. I than stamped the Merry Christmas in White craft ink.

As someone who doesn't doodle often, when I do, I am one that likes to color in the lines when I see something like this, so this reflects how I like to doodle!

Up close of the snowflake!

I was once again picked for my fun Spiderowl Card seen here for the My Pumpkin Challenge.  There was some great stuff submitted and you so need to go check out this great blog where each month they use the Paper Pumpkin as inspiration to create some fun cards. I admit I am curious to see the inspiration for the next month with out "Notes" set that came a few weeks ago.

Thanks to the great ladies over there for the pick and of course the great inspiration to create!

Happy Halloween!!!

My Paper Pumpkin- October Challenge

11:07 AM 5 Comments
Spiderowl Spiderowl!!!!

So this month on My Paper Challenge is a combination of the the September Paper Pumpkin Wahoo! Stamp set and Owls. If you know me personally, owls flock to me and I love love the SU Owl punch.

Looking at the challenge and thinking about it, I instantly thought superheroes specifically Spiderman because of the background on the kit card as well as the Wahoo (that made me think retro Batman). My kids are super into superheroes and are always dressing up as Batman, Ironman or Spiderman.

I took the owl punch and punched out a red body and blue body. I hand drew on the red cardstock the spider print. I really liked how it turned out.

Here is a close up of the Spiderowl!!
