CTC #53- Happy Haunting

12:00 AM 5 Comments

EEK!!

Halloween is right around the corner and is one of my favorite times of the year. The kids have had thier costumes picked out for weeks. One is the Flash and the other a Storm Trooper.

This week for Casing the Catty we are exploring pages 46-49 in the Holiday Mini.

I just loved the DSP (page 47) for this set and it was one of my preorders of course. I found this lovely idea using the stamp set on page 40- Sparkly Seasons.

So my case this week is combining both the DSP and that set to make a fun card. I also went ahead and made an inspiration for Christmas to. I love double duty stamp sets.

Please take a look at our next Blog and see what wonders Rachel has created!

CTC #52- Project Life

12:00 AM 2 Comments

Project Life is one of my favorite go to things and I love that SU has incorporated more and more of it into thier product line. I use it for way more than just scrapbooking and for this week's Casing the Catty  was inspired to use it a a different a new way.

I created a Advent Calendar using a one card from the Hello December Card Set and Accessory pack found on pages 36-38.

I die cut out all the Trees using the Perfect Pines Framelits and used the fun DSP Home For Christmas.

I plan in adding Photos of the Holiday season through out the month of December to add to the whole  theme. I can than easily transfer this into a scrapbook for a memory at the end of the holiday season.

I also love that I was able to use the frame from that adorable kit too.

CTC #47 - Let's Kit Together

12:00 AM 4 Comments
I didn't realize it has been that long since I had a CTC blog post. The kids getting back into the school routine in all honestly kicked my butt big time.  We are at the end of week 3 and finally getting into a decent schedule. Plus I was also in charge of Grandparent's Night at the school so I was running around doing that as well.

I have to say I LOVE the Kit section of the new mini. I instantly purchased both the Season to Season Wreath and the Witching Decor Project. I love the kits SU comes out with because it is a fun afternoon project you can work on. I finally finished the little scrapbook kit from the spring mini but it still needs pictures.

I finally had a moment to sit down and play with the Season to Season wreath and it is fun and pretty easy mind the burnt finger from the glue gun which I should totally know better so my suggestion is to use something like your bone folder to press down the paper when applying it to the wreath.

here is my finished wreath all done up for fall. I didn't buy the coordinating stamp set but instead used the textured stamps from the various Paper pumpkins that have come in over the last few years.

Here is my completed wreath and I framed it in a frame I have hanging on my wall. I love to change out the wreath for the seasons and now all I really have to do it change the banner in it.

This is such a pretty and simple wreath. It took me only about thirty minutes to but the leaves on. It took  longer to figure out what colors I wanted to use in the stamping.

CTC #43 Artistic Expression

12:00 AM 4 Comments

This week is all about Artistic Expression for CTC. Honestly I don't have much from this section yet but I do have one set which was a prize when the last catalog came out.

I won Work of Art and well I wasn't to sure about it. I likely would not have purchased with a first impression look through the catty but after I had it awhile and started playing with it, It has become one I have changed my mind about. I have seen wonderful things done with it over the last year since it has been introduced. So today, I decided to use it for my card and of course CASE.

The card I cased is from page this section.

PRODUCTS I USED:

Work of Ar 13411
Whisper White Card Stock
Basic Black Card stock
Delightful Dijon Ink 138327
Bermuda Bay 132925
Cherry on Top Washi
Some left over string from a Paper Pumpkin Project

Casing the Catty # 42 Everyday

12:00 AM 6 Comments

Oh My the Everyday section in the current catty is huge and so many options. So this week we are Casing one of our favorites from that section for CTC!

This is such a fun section and I love so many of the cards and ideas that were to choose from. I specifically picked the card from pg 105 using the Tap Tap Tag set on pg 104.

I changed up the colors and used the Schoolhouse DSP and Cardstock pack (Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, and Tangerine Tango).  I love these new idea of having coordinating packs of card stock with the DSP. It makes it so much easier.

I also used a tad of the Cherry on Top Washi tap in the corner.

I think this would be a cute card for Back to School which starts here in Texas in less than three weeks (Yes I am counting the days till the kids go back.)

CTC # 40- Gift Packaging Blog Hop

12:00 AM 5 Comments

Gift giving is one of my favorite things to do and we are celebrating on the hop this week for CTC!

This was so quick and easy and cased from pg 60 of the catty. I used a small jar I had on hand and wrapped Cherry on Top washi tape around it. I than punched out from the Cherry on Top DSP pack using the Decorative Label and stamped from Sprinkles on Top. So simple to make and a cute gift to give. I need to get some funny jelly beans to put in it though!

12:00 AM 9 Comments

This week's hop at CTC is all about the Catty Section of Thanks.

I just got my new stuff in and of course I got some new paper which is the new Stack Cherry on Top along with the Cardstack Pack that comes with it.

I love how it coordinates together and I can see many uses for that.

I also used a new In Color of Watermelon Wonder and my new stamp set Sprinkles on Top. I loved the little donuts in it.

Another fun new thing which I won from my Demo Stamp group was the Expressions Natural Elements which are 3D greetings- how cute are those.

Casing the Catty #34 Blog Hop- Birthdays!

12:00 AM 7 Comments

Welcome to this week's CTC  blog hop which features ideas from the new Birthday section. I am way way behind on everything. School just let out here in Texas and we are in week 1 of summer vacation. I have decided organization is on the menu so I cleaned the kids room top to bottom this week as well as their playroom. I am so behind that I just made my first SU order last week from the new catty which is so unlike me but I have had zero time to actually sit down and decide what goodies I wanted.

So when I decided to jump on board for this hop, I decided to use a new one from last catty that is returning this catty- Age Awareness as well as Crazy about You (which are two of my favs and so happy they stuck around).

I took some Hello Honey paper as well as ink to use as the base of the card. Other colors used where Garden green and Blackberry Bliss. You would think I was a first time stamper with how much Blackberry bliss is all over my hands and desk. I am going to chalk it up to still working on motor skills in my left hand (even though the doc cleared me weeks ago and told me I was recovered).

I think this such simple and pretty card that was inspired off of some Pinterest ideas that were out there.

Hopefully you have checked out everyone's great designs this week. There is so many wonderful ideas out there and I need time to play more with all of it!

CTC 31- Father's Day Blog Hop

12:00 AM 4 Comments

Father's day is right around the corner so this week's blog hop is all about CASing out of the Father's Day section of the Occasions catty and I specifically used the cute card on page 40 which used the Work of Art set and the Anchor.

I used the same idea but used the cute Bug from Let's Get Away (I specifically bought that set for the bug) and used the April Paper Pumpkin set to make this fun card which is my hubby. I also used a variety of oranges like only orange (retired), calypso coral, and tangelo twist. I just went through my stamping spots and used them.

Here is why:

His vintage '66 bug and yes it has a stache on it!

12:00 AM 2 Comments

This week is all about bing inspired by the Doily card on page 22 of the Occasions catalog. I almost missed it and looked for it twice before I saw it.

Here is the sketch inspired.

I ut out using my ecutter the SU digital imagine (still using MDS until I no longer can).

I than used the banner framelits and hand cut out the Hello from Crazy About You set.

I fully admit I am not a doily type of gal and haven't been able to jump on this band wagon so of course i used my twist on it.

Casing the Catty #27 Blog Hop- Memories

12:00 AM 4 Comments

The memory keeping section of SU's Occasions catalog is one of my favorites and I nearly got all of it because I loved it so much. I loved the travel idea and using the Project Life products, I have created our adventure book for 2015 (We are an adventurous family).

I always like to search Pinterest for ideas as well as the catties as well. I am using inspiration from page 46-47 as well as Pinterest. I loved the idea of covering the front of the Project Life albums and always do so with these smaller ones.  I created my page using MDS and my ecutter per a design I had pinned.

Inside, I made separators for each of our trips using MDS (I am going to use it till I can't any more even though they won't support it).

I was also inspired using the Stamp Set So You on page 48 and yes I have the little album as well that I have been working on.
