My Christmas Wreath party was so much fun that I had been asked to do another one for Valentine's Day which means I am likely doing an Easter one as well. I finally had a moment to do my sample for the group to see who wanted to make it.

The big thing we are doing for this one is stamping on canvas (LOVE Banner) and making rosettes out os burlap and ribbon.

I am looking forward to it and excited to share this craft project with my friends.

It was super easy using red burlap ribbon, a large straw wreath and making some rosettes with burlap and ribbon. The banner is quick and easy too and would be a cute one even off of the wreath.

I participate in a monthly card swap and I always do my card that month but than I totally forget to take them. So now I have three cards to take this month. I had fun making all of them.

I like to use the Paper Pumpkin kits because not everyone orders it. I also am so about the Festive Flurry set as well so I made a fun trifold card from that as well.

Using SU's Banner set, I created a banner for my wall. I used the new DSP Sweater Weather and made some rosettes and stenciled on the letters and background. It is just a fun banner. You can purchase the supplies from stampinup.com.

My daughter has a ton of bows in her bathroom drawer and she never wants to wear them because she does't want to go through them to find the perfect one, so after seeing a zillion of them on Pinterest I made her one.

It was super easy. I picked up this frame on the clearance rack for 4 bucks. I had the ribbon on hand left over my my sewing projects a few weeks back. Using my handy staple gun, I stapled the ribbon onto the back of the frame, hammered some nails in the wall, placed the bows and hung on the wall. I think it took all of ten minutes to do.

I love this time of year- it by far is my favorite time. The coolness of the weather - okay slightly cooler weather here in Texas,  leaves changing and Halloween.

I had some ideas on how I wanted to decorate the house for Fall and Halloween this year. I created some pieces that will stay year round, some for the duration of Fall (till I switch out for Xmas) and than specific Halloween stuff.

I took my wreath that hangs on my brick wall and changed out the flowers than added the ribbon. I bought a bouquet of flowers from Hobby Lobby and just pulled them out. I didn't even hot glue them in. I kept the other flowers and when it is spring again, will stick them in.

I finally purchased the make a banner set from Stampin Up and well had some fun creating the Halloween banner using the accessory set that you can also purchase.

It was trail and error to get it right for me. I tried using the included mister with the black but it came out purple. I than decided to dab it on which was much better.

I than created five separate rosettes which I love the look of but hate making them. I ended up hot gluing them all down after they came apart.

I than added in all the details and hung it on my cabinet I have (I always forget this is a great place to hang things up).

Halloween is a little over a month away and I have been crafting pretty much since August for the holiday. It is by far my favorite holiday of the year. I love the colors, the costumes and the fall weather. This project has been pooping all up over on Pinterest. I have had tons of followers repin it just from me so of course I wanted to make it. Actually I made two of them because for some reason I wanted to. Not sure yet what I am doing with them both (maybe one will become a gift to someone).

It was an easy project but time consuming because you have to paint and let the letters dry which I did over night. It also takes time to cut and deco podge the letters and of course I did double it so it was twice as long.

The one modification I made from the inspiration pin was that I used paper instead of fabric. I really liked the three coordinating papers that I found at Hobby Lobby for each of the letters.

I love my living room and every since my hubby and I redid it, I have loved the far wall but for the past month or so I have been wanting to change it up and try something new. Again, spending more time on Pinterest than I should, I saw a great idea for using shutters on the wall. I also have been so wanting to do a empty frame to accent wreaths that I like to hang up there. So I looked online and saw that the basic shutters at the hardware store were 26 bucks.

So the kids and I went there at like 8 am on a Saturday morning to buy them. I got the smallest ones. They also come in a deep red and I guess they also have paintable ones. The black ones work perfect for me, so I just used those. They are very light and hallow on the back side so two nails to balance it worked easy.

I than dragged them as they like to say into Hobby Lobby to look for a empty frame. At first I wanted a barn wood one but after I looked around, I found the white one which I liked way more.

So I came home, removed all the stuff off the wall and than started putting the stuff back up on the wall. Everything else I had around the house. I added in the wreath and will switch that out for the seasons. I than also added in the banner which had hung off the quilt rack.

I love how it turned out. It gives the wall a new look and I am fine to change it out as needed.

I am so into chalk board now and yes I painted another project using my can of paint. Plus I added in the mod podged chevron background.

I had purchased this chipboard items awhile ago and sort of forgot about them until this week when I thought I could go chalkboard that stuff, so I dug around in my craft closet and found them.

The circle and ring our my project while the crown is my daughters. She blinged it out after it was dry - such a girl sometimes.



So I painted the circle with the chalkboard paint and than I mod podged the chevron paper on to the ring (it is SU's Halloween paper).



When it was all dry, I hot glued on the circle to the ring- it wasn't that easy but I went slowly and it stuck.

So now I have a message board above my desk to write stuff on.

I love the look of the mason jar and than add some color and make it look vintage is by far an even better look. I have been seeing all over the place how to do them and it is super easy- just takes some drying time and in the Houston humidity a little more time.

I have been stalking this on item on Pinterest and so have been wanting to make it for myself. I was going to go buy all the parts and than I stubbed my toe in the garage with a left over piece of wood from the kids play structure and when I picked it up to move it, I realized it was the perfect piece for the project.

So I used:

1- 24 inch 4x4
1- 6x6 beveled plaque (from Hobby Lobby)
1- 4x4 beveled plaque
1-3x3 beveled plaque
1- black hook
1 chalkboard sign

So because I had the large piece, all the other parts cost me about 10 bucks. Each of the wood pieces were about 1/50 a piece and than the chalkboard sign was 5.99 but I had my 40% off coupon and the hook was also on sale for 1.50.

I had my hubby nail the plaques onto the bottom and the top. I than painted it with one coat of paint (I wanted the weathered unfinished look) and than the hubby screwed in the hook for me.

I than had decorated using left over burlap ribbon to make some rosettes. I decided on the chalkboard sign so I could change out the message and the rosettes are hot glued on, so I can just pop them off to change them out.

I love my sign hanger and I could also hang a small wreath from it as well.

My daughter has a friend who turned 8 and we were invited to her birthday party. The little girl is so sweet and loves just loves office supplies and craft items. Last year we got her this craft box you could decorate and she loved it and still plays with it, so I felt the need to do as good of a job this year for her birthday.

I decided to create a gift basket full of craft and office supplies. I may or may not have gotten out of hand with it because I decorated and monogramed some of the supplies as well. I really like how it all turned out.

The Kids Clothes all bought- check. I like that we have nice weather almost year round, so we can be in shorts longer and warmer clothes do last longer on my kids who grow at a much slower rate though I admit I know one of these days they are both going to shoot up.

School Supplies- check. I admit to loving the annual school supply trip. I always buy extras for both the classroom, Girl Scouts, and the house. Especially when I have a kid who mostly colors and cuts paper all day. Even though I KNOW the scissors help with gross motor skills, I don't know how much more I can take with the constant clean up. At least he knows we need to sweep it up and he is helping.

Lunch and snack station- check. I decided to bring the snack bins inside and stick them up on my black shelf in the kitchen. The first thing out of the mouths of both kids is always I need a snack. I took the four tubs I got from the dollar store and filled them with granola bars, fruit snacks, etc. So I should be good for awhile because all three are basically filled to the brim and I still have a stash of fruit snacks in the garage. I like Miss O to  buy lunch because it is way cheaper than me making it but Mr. L may have to take it on occasion and I also don't mind Miss O taking it to break up the regularity of school lunch.



Teacher gift for the first day- check.  So I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was so cute and super easy to do. I just filled the drink cup up with about 30 drink packets.  I hope who ever she ends up with will like it- actually I know which ever 2nd grade teacher she gets will appreciate it.


So only a week to go for the first day for Miss O and a week and half for Mr. L (I am so excited for him to start Preschool- we both need it).

Now come on you didn't really think I wouldn't have a wreath for Back to School. I love these colors that I picked out. I used muted primary colors because I didn't want something so vibrant.


This was an easy one to create, the only problem was I had on a black dress so I got all the little fibers on it.

I just quickly painted the ABC in red and only did one coat so they were muted. So now only a few weeks left till school starts.

So last school year I started using this bird hook thingy for backpacks, purses, hats, etc and than I added the bench there which is more decoration that usefulness (it had to be repaired after a certain seven year old stood on it).

Yes I know it is still  aways away but I have to say it is one of my favorites of the year. I love all the red, white and blue around. I also admit it to coming late into it being one of my favorite holidays. As a kid and childless adult, I was indifferent to it but once I had kids and see the joy as they watch parades and fireworks amazes me. We had one of the best times a few years ago at the fireworks. We took a picnic and just hung out as a family.

I had fun last year decorating for the holiday and reused some of the same decorations in different ways plus I added to it. Of course my white tree got the holiday treatment as well. It has been sitting there all sad looking since Easter waiting for decorations. I think I will do it up for Back to School in August so it doesn't have to wait till October for Halloween.

Lastly I can't forget my new wreath which turned out great. I had been looking for floral picks to stick in the wreath and only found the bow. Than when digging through my 4th stuff, I found exactly what I was looking for and was happy to already have it.

Everything is up including my fun placemats in the kitchen which I have to retrain them all not to use as well as the napkins because I am that nutty woman who has them for decoration only. Yeah I know-crazy!!!

Summer vacation has started and even before it did, I came across this awesome idea. I had it bouncing around in my head but was unsure how to do it and do it good. Than I came across Some What Simples Boredom Jar and bam that was it.

The idea is simple by creating a jar filled with all sorts of boredom busters. Things range from to chores but that is how life is. The great thing is that Some What Simple already has the printables for the jar so you don't have to think it all up yourself. Some of the things my kids to already while others are new and hopefully exciting.

I just took a plain mason jar and filled it with all boredom busters and than decorated the outside by creating the fun top and side tag. So simple and yet I hope effective.

So last week I showed you how I redid my gallery wall and totally changed it up for about 15 bucks.  I have a beautiful shelf my hubby built many years ago to replace the lack of mantel in our house. I use it for Christmas every year to hang stockings. I use to have it on the other wall but when we switch the couches and tv around, I flipped the shelf to the other wall. I stuck every thing up there exactly like it had been on the other wall, so I was guilty again of just leaving it when I totally should be changing it out.

Though I do change it up for Halloween and Christmas but for the most part this is how it looks most of the time. I was trolling Pinterest again and stumbled upon this awesome pin by The Happy Scraps.  You know I love banners and they are pretty quick to put together unless your three year old keeps asking for help with his Lego plane.

So I went to work inspired by that Pin to create my own version of it. As I went through all of my SU DSP, I found the paper that worked for me. It is bright but also muted and fits well with my decor. I than created 6 separate but clean and simple banners for it. I embossed the card stock layer and stamped summer on it. I than of course attached it all the pieces along with ribbon and hung. At first hanging from the pegs, it hung to low so I used small decorative nails to hang it from. I than removed and dusted the shelf (remember I haven't moved things since Xmas). I than started with that awesome scrapbook page I created about two years ago and framed. When you put that much effort into one, I want to see it all the time.

I than went through all my stuff and rearranged things. The flowers were on my counter and the orange jars were hiding in plain site in the living room. I than added back a few of the things that were up there and wow what a difference it makes. I really like how it turned out.

I have had this same old boring Galleryesque wall since we painted it back about seven years ago. I change out the pictures but haven't at all changed out the layout.
