I have been seeing on Pinterest pillowcase tops for woman and I wanted to make one. I used some cheap knit fabric off the remnant table at HL and also some cheap ribbon that caught my eye. I measured myself (I could have added a touch more but it works) and I sewed up the sides, left room for my arms and did the top. I think it turned out cute!




Of course after my daughter saw it, she thought it work as a dress for her as well. Now if I had more fabric I would make her one but sadly only had about a yard.

I need a bow tie for my halloween costume or the idea I have in my head for what I want to be. I have been going through my stuff and I found some red fabric_ I needed my bow tie to be red. I pretty much just hand sewed it together. I used the iron lots to press it into place and than stitched it up real quick. I added some elastic for hen it goes around my neck. I promise to show off the finished costume if it works out like I want it to!

If you know me loose buttons are not something I like to have around because I always want to gag because I think of them as a choking hazard. On shirts and clumps that is okay. I once saw a lamp created out of a mason jar and filled with buttons- I almost lost it.

So when Miss O came home from GS camp on Monday night after making Daisies from large and small buttons for SWAPS, I was dreading what she was about to ask- can I make more. The kid is so much like me in her crafting.

So I of course said yes and trekked to Wally World to purchase a bag of buttons. I actually was okay- I tried not thinking about it. So today after I fixed my headlight bulb, we went to work making COUNTLESS button daisies with both pin backs and hair clip backs.

Plus I made a simple lanyard from some ribbon I had. I just stitched it over a key ring and added on a clip for anything Miss O might have. The whole of the project took about 15 minutes,. It would have gone longer if I hadn't finally said no more button daisies.

So Miss O designed the colors of each and I hot glued them together. She has two for her lanyard, one for her hair, two for her shirt, and some extra ones just to have plus she made one for her brother who than instantly popped two buttons off to make it a car.

I really loved the fabric I used to make my giant floor pillows. I made these cute little pillows to coordinate with them. I love the owl fabric so much!



So as I was stuffing them, I was thinking what could I do with the left over fabric and I remembered the cute one I saw on Pinterest a few weeks ago and thought I bet I could make that real quick.

So I set to work and cut it out. I wanted to make cool handles on it so I made ones to go on the outside This fabric lent it self well with that way.

Putting it all together was similar as the giant pillow without having to shove all the stuffing in.

Here is the finished project and I thought it would be a cute grocery bag when I get a few things.

I saw this PIN last week when I was bored  during Miss O's soccer practice.  I than for some reason decided to go look for some fabric on the Amzon.com app (yeah that is both a good and bad thing).  I found the perfect fabric on there which I instantly loved and if you know me I am drawn to owls. I than looked for a complimenting fabric as well and took a guess with this one. I was a tad worried they might not go together because picture colors can be different but once they arrived, they were perfect together. 

I am so ashamed I didn't do this so much sooner. I thought it was harder and more expensive than it actually was. So today is a no sew project.

I had been wanting since we redid the kitchen years ago to make pads for the window boxes in the kitchen. Even though we had repainted them, they got icky over the years and it didn't help that someone had decided to take their hard boiled egg and mush it into the wood.

I had the fabric from the get go and I found it the other day and set it aside. I vowed to myself that we would get it done soon. So i ventured to the super hardwood store and found nearly the right size boards for 4 bucks a piece. Okay I thought that was cheap but the foam is expensive. Not so at the craft store with my 4o percent off coupon. Everything said and done had it cost me like 30 bucks (not counting the fabric I had for years).  The boy liked it so much that he wanted one for his room, so I made another one in of course car fabric.

The kids love sitting on them and the girl is trying to figure out how we can move the table over to use them for actual benches (table is to short).

When they were finished my hubby told me how nice the fabrics went together, thinking I had just picked it out when I confessed that I had bought it when I bought the other fabric for the curtains.

Miss O and Kit are so happy together. My daughter just loves her AG doll and even more so when they match. She got matching PJs for Christmas and even though they are a tad to big on her, she insists on wearing them so they can be twins.

I saw this fabric a few weeks ago and just had to get it because I knew how cute it would be for the AG  doll and her to have matching dresses. I made Kit's first and she was so excited when she saw it. I than tackled hers and I am no seamstress. I followed the pattern which are never easy to read. I had to retool it all after Miss O tried it on. It will fit her for a long while.

She really likes it even with the goofy face she has on her face.

When I made the ornaments on my Valentine's tree, I had left over fabric so when I after I was done working on my Block of the month, I took the precut squares and made a pillow. I think it took me about 15 minutes to put together and five of that was stuffing it.

I recently had a Pinterest party where a bunch of us gathered and crafted together. I love to craft and be social so if course combining the two was great. I had five projects for the group to do.

Yes I am "that" person who likes to decorate the tree for the holidays. I was taking down the peacock christmas tree and decided that I liked having the tree up so I decided to do it all up for Valentine's Day.

I got a bunch of stuff at the dollar store and than found adorable charm packs of fabric and knew they screamed ornaments. So I cut out using my sizzix and dies a bunch of sized hearts in this adorable Moda fabric (it is my favorite brand) and just sewed around them. I added in a lace ribbon to hang them onto the tree.

This thin white tree just works so well in decorating it. It doesn't need a lot to make it pop in my opinion. Now I get to have some fun Vday decorations and keep my tree up awhile longer (still debating if it is going to go green for St. Patty's).

I love owls and a few of you know that. I actually have an adorable 9 year old friend who is always on the look out for owls and tells me when she finds a cute one. 

So Kit came to live with us over the holidays. My daughter went back and forth about who she wanted and we all told her she looks so much like Kit that is who she should get so of course when we finally got to the store to have tea, she asked sheepishly when Kit was coming home with her. Well Nana came through and Kit was Miss O's Xmas gift.

Kit has a few clothes because Santa was aware Kit would be coming home at some point but she really needed some more dresses to be a girl in. I found this adorable pillowcase like dress on Liberty Jane. It was a free pattern and actually included both the instructions and pattern to cut out.

I set to work creating Kit her new dress from some retired SU fabric that I thought suited Kit to the T because of the vintage look because Kit is from the Depression era. It took me about an hour and I made one modification to the dress where I used ribbon instead of creating the dress ties. I had this adorable ribbon that matched perfectly so I threaded that through.


Now Kit has a fun summer dress and because it is Texas, she can likely wear it all year round.

I wanted to make my niece and sister in law matching scarves (they live in a climate where they will use it). I took some fleece and cut the length of the fabric and the width for my SIL was 12 inches I folded it in half, sewed down the side, turned right side out and fringed the edges. For my niece her scarf was reduced in size because she isn't quite 2.

I saw this awesome pin  for a felt Christmas tree and I thought how perfect would that be to keep Mr. L's hands off the other trees in the house even though I noticed that somethings were already a miss on the one tree I have up. I just took a1/2 yard of green felt from the fabric store and bought 8x11 pieces of colored felt and went to town cutting it out. I think it took me less than 30 minutes to put it all together and well I am sure he will have hours of enjoyment with it. I also wasn't surprised by Miss O playing with it as well.

I loved my Halloween ruffled apron that I thought the idea of a ruffle would be cute around a pillow so using some fun coordinating fabrics which are actually Christmas ones, I made this fun little pillow. Right now it is is sitting on my new bench by the front door. I think  he may need some company soon so I might make more. It is just the right size decorative pillow for that spot.

I loved this fabric and thought it would make a cute bag for Halloween- I so have a bag problem.

The other day I was at the craft store and saw the cutest Halloween Apron with all these ruffles in black and orange. I was so in love but put it back because it was expensive. I thought I will get it when they go on sale.

Than I was at the other craft and fabric store when I saw this really cute fabric. I love when you walk in and bam the seasonal fabric is right there for you to see. I saw one pattern I really liked but than these two coordinating fabrics in bright Halloween colors hit me. I loved the cupcakes on the one and the dots just complimented it so nicely. I thought I could make a apron out of this like the one I saw at the other store plus I really liked this fabric way better.


I took a fat quarter of basic black and hemmed it up on all four sides which is the base of the apron. I than took and cut the length of the fabric (about 36 inches) at a width of six inches for two of the cupcake patter and 2 five inch of the dots. I also cut one more cupcake at 36in long and 5 in wide. I than started at the bottom and pinned from the middle out to make the ruffles (just do any search for ruffled apron and directions should pop up).

I just layered up the top starting with cupcakes (6in width), than dot (5 in), Cupcake (6in), dot (5 in) and finally the cupcake (5in).  When I was all done I cut two 24 inch long by 5 inch wide stripes of the dot to make the tie back. I folded that over in half and than folded each side about  1/4 inch in. I ironed it flat and straight and than positioned, pinned, and than sewed it one. These are general directions and I highly suggest doing a search which I did. I wanted to give general directions and I should have taken way more photos but I got going in the process and well had so much fun creating.

I have to say this turned out way better than I thought it would and I love it. I also got a request for a smaller version and I think I might have enough fabric to create it for Miss O.

Enjoy my new favorite apron- I think a Christmas one may be needed to which means Miss O and Nana will need one as well!

Today is a no sew project and use I use the same fabric from the quilt I still have some left- maybe for another pillow (we will see).

I just cut tons of strips ad tied it on to a wire wreath frame (I bought a dozen online a few months ago). It is going to be so cute up on the wall when I finally start decorating for Halloween. October 1 is right around the corner.

I had a bunch of the fabric left over from the quilt and made this cute pillow. I just made it the size that was left over from the fat quarter so I would guess it is about half the fat quarter. The front is a cute Halloween print while the back is stars (hard to see in the picture). It fits perfect on my chair. Now it just has to meet its friends that I made last year!
