CASE-ing the Catty Week# 9

Week 9 is all about the Thank you section in the catalog (144-153) and there were so many great ideas. Make sure to go over to CASE-ing the Catty and check out everyone's great projects.

For me this week, I was instantly drawn to the gift bag made out of the window box on page 151. I made it my own by using some washi tape and that big bow to compliment the thank you sentiment.

The box was super easy to do. I just cut off the lid, taped down the one flap and than added on the handle (I cut about 1.25x8 inch piece of card stock ) by attaching it with brads I had. I used a mixture of new stuff and retired because I like to utilize what I have my stash of stuff.

My Cricut Craft Room- Camping

Today is my Camping Inspired Scrapbook Page for MCCR.

This was a timely one for me because we just got back from Camping this past weekend. We haven't camped in YEARS and it was the kids first time.

I created this page using the following cartridges and 18 separate mats for this page:

I have seen similar layouts like this and loved the idea of using it for a camping theme. I used all Stampin up paper.

CASE-ing the Catty- Week #8- Card Giving

So what is Stampin Up all about about- well card giving of course!

That is this week's CASE-ing the Catty Challenge and well this was so hard to decide which card to case so I went more with one that was inspiring. The Card giving section is pages 102-143 which is a huge part of the catalog.

I went through it numerous times and when I saw the cute card on page 115- Friends who know, I though I need to make something like that. It reminded me of chalkboard which I LOVE.

I stamped using the layered flower and of course used the hello there from our hostess set. I embossed it all in different colors. I love how it turned out and would love to make more of these in many versions.

CASE-ing the Catty Week #7- Home Decor

Week 7 here and this week it is Home Decor (pages 94-101) for CASE-ing the Catty Challenge!

I am using an a project I did many months ago when I first saw it in the catalog. I loved the idea of being able to use my new ecutter to cut out MDS stuff. this took as long as a card would take me because the pillow is so simple. I was inspired

I got the Moments Ago Brush set and imported it into the cutting system. I than ironed it on a pillow I made from retired Stampin Up fabric. How cute is it!

My Cricut Craft Room - Fall Card

Well it is another project for My Cricut Craft Room (MCCR) and today's theme is a Fall Card.

Fall is right around the corner for most but here in Texas on the Gulf Coast, it will be hot till at least the end of October.

I love fall so this was a great way to get in the mood for it.

I used the following cartridges to create my huge card:

Here is a closer look at the pumpkins and leaves that I cut out. I cut out the card base and than layered on the two pieces of paper than finally adding on the orange strip and the leaves and pumpkins. I used dimensionals to make the one pumpkin and leave pop on the card.

This card is huge and I was hoping to be able to stick it in a letter sized envelope though it might be to big for that. I might repurpose it at some point, it would also make a good note holder as well.

I used retired Stampin UP DSP which is one of my all time favorites. I don't often by more than one pack of paper but this was one of the few I did so I had enough to last awhile.

Back to School-Yeah

"It's a school night" shot out of my mouth for the first time in twelve or so weeks. The kids groaned loudly but went to bed. Excited for what was ahead this coming school year. Heck I am excited for the coming school year.

The summer flew by in a flash. We got most of what we wanted to get done. Trips to the zoo and the water parks. Never made it to the beach but with all the seaweed not to sure we would have wanted to go any ways. Still need to go to the children's museum but one weekend for sure is what we promised. We did hit every other museum though one day in June.

The girl is happy with her new class, and the boy meets his teacher on Tuesday ( he still is a week away from starting 4K- which means he is one year away from kinder). Wow the time is sure flying as we get older.

Our summer was filled with all sorts of things. Some wonderful like our road trip throughout the Midwest. The hubby tried but we just won't go up in the Gateway Arch but found the museum there awesome. Some hard things that we don't want to relive but made us realize that we are getting older.

First and foremost my kids will tell you they had a great summer. The swam like crazy with the youngest actually starting to swim more on his own with out a life vest- I needed a stiff drink after watching him because he rattled my nerves with his bravery.

As a parent, it is my job to insure the kids have a great life. I try to limit worry but I don't shy away for it. Worry is okay because it shows them we are human as well. It is our job as parents to help them grow in as many ways as possible.

As the school year starts, I sit here reflecting at how great my kids are. Everyone's kids are great! I see them becoming wonderful people and count the success of my marriage on how well the kids are doing. They are doing well and we are doing well even when we all drive each other up the wall.

So as I send the kids off again for another school year, I hope for the same things. Lots of growth, education, and of course lots of fun times. As a whole we learn so much more together. The kids are sponges who love to sit and watch Dad fix his car or help Mom with a sewing project. When It is all said and done, my hope is my kids remember as much as possible for the things we did for them in their childhood.
