My Cricut Craft Room- Traditions

12:00 AM 0 Comments
Thanks for coming to day's My Cricut Craft Room  and today's theme is Traditions.

When I was young, I remember my parents and thier siblings getting together to purchase a family tree for my grandparents. It was so pretty and I am sure amy mom has it now since my grandparents passed on. It was a gold leaf tree set on velvet with everyone (at the time) birth stones. I remember for years that it hung in a special place at both Grandmother's house. My brother and I would point to it and say look at everyone in the family.

Sadly it became dated after another cousin was added on one side and than on the other side, about 10 more were added after it.

I really wanted to make one for my parents and it will grow with them (I suspect one more grandkid will be added so I made an extra scallop circle that is on the back).

I used the  Heritage cartridge for the tree as well as the birds and some font that I have imported into CDS for the family name.

I used a punch for the scallop tags and circles. I had cut out some funky tags but really didn't like it so I went with this instead. I just printed up everyone's name on white card stock and punched those out as well. This is a blend of so many ideas!

I used some grey oracle vinyl for the letters on the front.

I really love how this turned out. I love having an idea in my head and than going to make it into something better than I could of imagined it could be.

For the paper, I used Stampin Up's new DSP All is Calm which was the perfect color I was looking for with the paper. The frame was a shadow box from the craft store. I would say I spent at nearly two hours creating this and it will wow my mother1

Stampin up has great Project Life stuff and I purchased (before it was sold out) this adorable cherry cobbler 6x8 album. It is all done up inside and I will show off more as I stick pictures and stuff fin for the holiday season.

I saw a Project Life album done up in a chalkboard scheme and decided to go that route. I love how it turned out!

12 Days of Christmas Crafts- Day 6

My reindeer shadowbox- isn't it awesome.

I have to say I adjusted the coloring a bit in order for it to pop more for the picture. It is much more softer in person.

So here I am at my favorite craft store (I think they know me by name) and I saw this adorable piece of winter art. It wa alike 15 bucks but I thought to myself I so have a great frame and DSP that work really well with that so I pulled down the frame and the fall picture I had in it and created this masterpiece.

I used Stampin DSP and a cut file out of Design Studio with my Cricut.

I than aded in the snowflakes glitter and shook it around to give it the fresh fallen snow look.

I love the idea of subway art and how it has taken on a life of its own. I saw this awesome PIN and just fell in love with this idea. I created my own JPEG of my own creation and printed it up on my printer. I embellished it some and than stuck it in the frame. I than added on a the envelope punch board bow on the front.

Here is the JPEG if you would like to print it up for personal use only.

12 Days of Christmas Crafts - Day 2

I so loved this Pin creating this fun Deer Art. I loved it so much that well I had to make my own version of it using the Cricut and some of the awesome SU paper that I had on hand.

I decided to cut one more deer out and than I punched the nose and cut the stars out of the the DSP Under the Tree. The glitter frame I had on hand so this project was a cheap one to make and I love it so much. Now I have my deer head my in my style.

12 Days of Christmas Crafts- Day 1

12:00 AM 0 Comments

I can not believe it is December already and that means Christmas is well on it's way. I love this time of year with the cooler weather, sweaters, and all of the seasons wonderful things. I am kicking off today 12 Days of Christmas Crafts and this one is all about ornaments and specifically the ones made at our December Pinterest Party (we actually held it the last day of November).

Each of us brought an ornament to make for the group so when we left, we would have 12 new ornaments to make.  Pinterest is so good for inspiration and for my own ornament I found the cutest tutorial  to make cupcake ornaments. I loved the idea and well of course I made it my own.

I used the same basic ideas of the original post but instead I used glitter glue to help with the mess somewhat though it did take a while for it to dry. I love how it turned out and what a cute gift these would make!

My Cricut Craft Room - Elf on the Shelf

12:00 AM 1 Comments

It is December 1 and that means Christmas will be here soon. In our house, the start of the Christmas seasons starts with the arrival of the Elf (elves) on the Shelf. Our elves aren't actually Elf not he Shelf ones but better as my kids say because they can be touched.

So today on My Cricut Craft Room, we are featuring that beloved Elf.

Our Elves arrived in style the Friday after Thanksgiving which kicks off the holidays for my kiddos. Last year, I planned every day and created fun digital scrapbook of all the Elves comings and doings. You can check it out here if you like!

SO again this year, I have planned it all out so that when 9 pm hits, the elves are prepared to be placed in their naughty or nice positions.

This year we kicked off thier arrival with a breakfast on Friday morning which included all sorts of goodies and treats for them.

I used the Jolly Holidays cartridge and the elves on there are so stinking cute.

First I made a banner using basic banner shapes and than using the  Print than Cut feature, did the banner. I wanted something cute that could stay up for the holiday season.

The goal this year is to make sure Eddie (Mr. L's) Elf makes it with out losing any major body parts but in case he does, a replacement elf has been purchased.

Thanksgiving Tablescape

12:00 AM 0 Comments

Today I bring you a fun project using the new Print than Cut feature that Cricut now offers.

I created fun table center piece:

I used the following cartridges:

Enjoy the Season
Autumn Celebrations

I started out with this cute glitter bucket from the dollar spot and a bunch of items from the dollar store for a total cost of 8 bucks for it all.

I created a center piece using leaves and twigs that I had in my stash of craft items.

Here it the turkey that I printed and than cut out. I just attached him to a small dowel rod.

The leaves and acorns.

Here are my cute matching napkin holders and the finished table.

12:00 AM 0 Comments

Thanks for joining me today from My Cricut Craft Room and today's theme is Modern!

Today I am showcasing my modern style Give Thanks!

I used some different colors for my Thanksgiving banner with some teals, blacks and orange to give it a different look. these have become so popular for Fall colors. Use traditional colors and add that pop of modern.

I cut all of the black back ins using a fun frame using the cartridge Songbird.

Here is the layer with the teal.

Turkey Day is around the Corner

12:00 AM 0 Comments

I can not believe Thanksgiving is like two weeks away. It felt like it was just here and now a whole year as passed. I figure this is the last year I can make fun shirts for my oldest (youngest has a few more years).

I designed (with help from the little one) thier Thanksgiving shirts. Mr. L is well Doctor Who inspired. He was so excited when I showed it to him. My hubby laughed and said it was really cute.

Both shirts were a lot of cutting and piecing even using the Cricut and worth it because they turned out so cute!

Dollar Store Thanksgiving Decor

12:00 AM 0 Comments

I love easy crafts and well this was an easy one. I spent more time looking for the glue than actually putting it together. This craft was under 10 bucks (mainly because I had the popcorn already).

I just bought three hurricanes from the dollar store, glued candle sticks on them and filled with popcorn kernels and added the candle.
